Same love by Macklemore and Mary Lambert
February 7, 2014
This music video has a lot of meaning to it. It kindly supports the people that tend to like the same sex. This song allows people to understand that there's nothing wrong with being gay or lesbian. People shouldn't be treated differently for the gender they are attracted to. Some of the meaningful lines in the song would be "I might not be the same, but that's not important, No freedom till we're equal, damn right I support it" and also, "A world so hateful some would rather die than be who they are". In my opinion, I feel the second line just says it all! It expressed the feelings of an individual that has been judged and criticized for something that isn't even a big deal. Either falling in love with the opposite sex or the same sex isn't under anyone's control other than your own.
Embrace The Remix by Kirby Ferguson
February 14, 2014
Kirby Ferguson's TED talk mainly focuses on the way things are redone by people. For example he talks about the relationship between music and how ideas or used in different ways to create something new. A few quotes from the video was from Steve Jobs during 1996, he said "good artists copy, great artists steal". But, as time went on he says "I'm going to destroy android because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this" during 2010. Those two quotes instantly show the difference between him saying it is fine to steal but later on life complaining that android is a stolen product. Events similar to that have been pointed out during this TED talk. Two songs were also compared that they have the same melody, which were Nottamun Town by Jean Ritchie and Masters of War by Bob Dylan. Kirby also mentions that The Patriot Game by Domine Behan and With God on our side by Bob Dylan have some of the same lyrics.

Dirty Car Artist by Scott Wade
March 21, 2014
I was amazed by the Dirty Car Artist! His idea of art was quite unique and interesting. The technique he uses to create such great artwork with the dirt that's on the cars is absolutely outstanding. Especially the results he gets with that idea was unbelievable, I didn't think that working with dirt would actually bring something that looks beautiful! Some of his work was no necessarily done on cars, he has an example on his facebook page which he did the same idea with but instead of a car it was on a pair of glasses. On March 7th, Scott Wade created dirty car art in Downtown San Marcos for the downtown wine and art walk. The fact that he does this knowing it does not last for so long is impressive! The link to his facebook page has been provided below, if you wish to take a look at that.
'Looks Aren't Everything' by Cameron Russell
March 28, 2014
I was quite fascinated by the fact that a model felt insecure for what she doing. The basic thought in me was that all models enjoy what they do and do it with a passion but in Cameron Russell’s case, she seems to feel insecure. She also mentioned that it’s not all about being thin which I would certainly agree with. Most teens have the mind set that being thin and looking similar to a model is the only way to impress people. In reality, being yourself is the way to impress people that will accept you for who you are and not who you try to be. In the past, I’ve seen many videos about the models shown on magazines don’t look the same in real life but this is the first time I’ve heard an actual model speak about these things.
Pavement Drawing by Julian Beever
April 4, 2014
This concept was similar to one of the options I had under 'annotated bibliography' which was about street drawings that were 3D. Julian Beever has pretty much worked within the same idea and made them quite larger and more intense. He also included drawings that had to include actual people interacting with the drawings such as a real human pulling out a figure that was drawn on pavement. This thought reminds me of kids drawing with chalk on the driveway but definitely a well developed version has come into mind as you look at the pavement drawings done by Julian Beever.
Deviant Art
April 11, 2014
Looking through these drawings I was certainly amazed! The 'paintings' I believe, are done with a lot of detail and I definitely do feel as if I should look at these as examples to proceed with my second body of work. As I did some research about this website I came across facts such as the website being open to any user willing to showcase their art online. This idea is fantastic to bring out the hidden talent within people. It was first launched on August, 2000 by Scott Jarkoff, Matthew Stephens, Angelo Sotira and others. Their aim was to provide a platform for any artist to come in at present their artwork.
Art from ordinary things
April 18, 2014
The things that can be done from such ordinary things is quite fascinating. Doing work with ordinary things doesn't seem easy, it looks as if it requires a lot of skill and patience. The one I was more interested in would definitely be the egg sculptures and the designs that are placed on them but once again it requires a lot of skills and patience. The sculptures done with the novels were also outstanding.
