The Scary Flashback
I call this one 'The Scary Flashback' because when I was a child, the house my family and I stayed in was always surrounded by plants. My mother was in love with decorating the whole house with plants. At a point we had plants spread out on our ceiling because apparently back in the day that was the new "trend". As a child, I was certainly terrified by that because it seemed so abnormal to me. This drawing expresses the way I felt towards all the plants around my house. I once thought the plants would soon grow bigger and bigger, and take over the house. Its funny to think about that now because as I grew up and matured, I found my interest in plants and the designs that are used within the floral print. Those are absolutely beautiful! This was my first drawing in high school which explains why my doors weren't accurate at all! I was quite impressed with my shading because it has been done pretty well.

Gloomy City
This was was my first watercolour painting in the grade 11 drawing and painting course. This idea of this painting was to represent a gloomy city, which was quite obvious from what the painting is called. The hidden meaning behind this is that society has changed. We don't accept everyone for their unique flaws. People are easily judged and excluded. This city has no one on the streets and no vehicles. By not putting those in my painting I was trying to send the message that people are hiding from reality. Some of us are afraid that others will not accept us and we run away from who we really are. Apart from the meaning behind my painting, working on this painting was a lot of fun. Working with watercolour is definitely something i enjoyed and I would consider using watercolour for future projects and assignments. For this painting I wanted to stick within the blue paint because blue usually represents gloomy, sad and etc. The painting simply seems decent to me but I do respect the opinion of those who think otherwise.

Red Page Project
The concept of this project was to do whatever you wish to do but you must include the red paper that was given to us. I had so many ideas in mind and ended up relating it to nature because I imagined it and saw it as something really neat! As you can see there's nothing special about it especially because it didn't come out the way I expected. I certainly was not aware of the difficulties I would face while working with an x-acto knife. The cuts usually didn't come out the way I wanted it to and they don't look as smooth when you see this piece in person. There were many possible ideas such as including things that pop out from the red page or to even try working with layers. From all the ideas the image to the left ended up being my final product.
